Stylish but sluggish!

Shot stylishly and gracefully, loaded with high octane action, fast cars, slickly shot chase sequences Don 2 is still a slow ride! Shah Rukh Khan stars as “jisko gyarah mulkon ki talaash wala” don and still roams around freely on the streets of  Berlin and Zurich. yes its that kind of a film! Obviously no one would expect logical storytelling from a Shahrukh Khan starrer, but how much can one take his audience for granted like those ridiculous sequences where a dangerous criminal like Don walks around in the prison unsupervised and quietly sneak in the chemicals and poison the dinner served.

There is another part where I actually felt cheated was the sinful waste of 3D. There is more of talk than action! I expected this to be fast paced action thriller but Don 2 is so

sluggish that even die hard SRK fans might end up yawning. the film derives some of its scenes from a hollywood flicks like the scene where Don is supposed to guide the Interpol team to the building from the same way where  he escaped from reminded me of the Sean Connery-Nicolas Cage starrer “The Rock”!

Its not that Don 2 is entirely unwatchable, the action scenes are shot stylishly and they do succeed in holding up your attention. There are moments where Shahrukh Khan is reveting and his scenes with his foe Vardhan(played by Boman Irani) in the prison is so well written that its hard to control yourself  and you have no other option but to go with the flow! Sadly such moments are few and far between.

Im going to go with two and half out of five for Don 2. What could’ve been an unpredectible, nail bitting thriller, sadly turns out to be a predictable, one time watch kind of a film! erfection as the kind of credible actor he is. Aly Khan as Diwan is also likeable in parts. Kunal Kapoor and Lara Dutta are completely wasted! In the end its Shah Rukh Khan who is the driving force of Don 2 and whose strong central performance saves this lazily written flick breathe some life into it!
